Internship - Development and Corporate Communications AssistantDate:6/30/2008
This Internship Position (unpaid) will work on a wide range of key projects within the largest, private and non-profit Social Service Agency in Newport County from September until December. As an assistant in the Department of Institutional Advancement, you will work with the Vice President on the administrative aspects involved with a newly initiated Corporate Communications Program, Capital Campaign ($4 Million), Annual Giving Strategic Plan, Special Events, Marketing, and much more. Responsibilities will include managing database input and research, preparing mailings and reports, preparing reports and information for meetings, regular contact via phone and in-person with volunteers, donors, community leaders, and staff within the agency. (10-15 hours per week – some evening and weekend hours for Special Events)

Senior and Junior CounselorsDate:6/30/2008
2nd (4 PM – 12 AM) & 3rd (12 AM – 8 AM) shifts available. Full-time and relief positions (schedule is based on your availabilty) open. Counselors work in our multi-site, residential program that serves behaviorally involved, abused and/or neglected youths from 6 to 18 years of age. The right candidates will assume shift responsibility as well as provide a therapeutic environment that promotes the physical and mental health of each resident. Counselors assist residents in developing life skills and work as a part of a therapeutic team, establishing communication and support among co-workers. Counselors are directly responsible for the supervision of clients and the coordination and execution of clients’ treatment plans as directed. Senior Counselor position requires a Bachelor Degree preferably in Psychology or Social Work. Junior Counselor position requires High School diploma or equivalent; degree in progress.

This key position will be accountable for the overall success of the Agency and it's mission: To strengthen families, their members and the communities in which they live. The Chief Operating Officer will provide leadership, management and vision to support the organization's day-to-day operations. Responsible for the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. Attention is to be given to program and system development, Qualty Assurance, and fiscal management.

MBA (or related) degree required, plus ten years of progressively responsible experience in operations or systems management; experience in non-profit arena highly preferred.

Full-time position responsible for developing an annual Agency-wide plan for organizational and programmatic evaluation and improvement. Involves workforce development and training initiatives, COA oversight, HIPAA compliance, and risk management. Position also responsible for grant research and proposal writing. Part-time (20-25 hours) position Monday-Friday. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Human Resources this position provides administrative support for the Human Resources Office. Perform routine administrative work in providing employee assistance, data processing, personnel record and file maintenance, direct mailings, orientation, typing, filing and scheduling as requested. Organize highly confidential and sensitive information; able to work -independent of supervision – to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload. Network Clinician (Providence)Date:6/6/2008
Full-time positions available to provide assessment and treatment interventions to adolescents in a variety of residential programs and to their families including individual, family and group therapies. Clinicians gather data, conduct assessments and coordinate treatment planning and program support. Travel within the state of Rhode Island. LCSW or LICSW preferred, other related Masters degree with license required - 2+ years (LMFT/LCDP), as well as a valid driver’s license.


Clinician - The Ophelia ProgramDate:6/5/2008
Fee-for-Service Clinician to support The Ophelia Program. This new and dynamic position involves the clinical treatment of young women in a gender specific supportive environment - services include individual, group and family therapy modalities. This position will also include support and involvement in The Ophelia Sessions - community forums for young women on Aquidneck Island. Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, with an independent license to allow for third party reimbursement required.


Program Manager - Residential ServicesDate:6/5/2008
Full-time position responsible for providing on-site management in the areas of quality assurance, staff training and development, as well as personnel and program administration. The Program Manager is responsible for managing the resources of the Agency's programs in order to maximize the quality of client services and promote the growth and development of program staff. The Program Manager assures the safety and well-being of the participants entrusted to the program and maintains a nurturing and supportive environment. They also work within the treatment team establishing open communication, support and accountability among co-workers. Bachelor Degree and a minimum of one (1) year of direct care experience required. One (1) year of administrative/supervisory experience preferred. Valid driver’s license required.


Home Health Aides Date:6/5/2008
Full-time, part-time or per-diem positions available to provide personal assistance, general support and companionship to elder clients in homes throughout Newport County. Duties include providing personal care, assisting with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and shopping. No nights, weekends, or holidays required; travel time and mileage reimbursement. Sign-on bonus of $50, and an additional $150 bonus after 6 months of employment. Home Health Aides must be Certified Nursing Assistants. All candidates must submit to BCI, possess valid driver's license and proof of insurance.


MIS CoordinatorDate:5/23/2008
Manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate professional staff. Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, and provide support to end users on a variety of technical issues. Responsible for the Agency network, telecommunications, more complicated software and hardware packages, and Agency interns. Develop procedures for the use of systems, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and interface with outside consultants for resolution. Possess broad knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies, with an understanding of general business, human service, and community service issues. Ability to work with staff, board of directors and community members. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field required and two-three years related experience.


House Manager - Residential ServicesDate:5/7/2008
Assume overall shift responsibilities and provide a therapeutic environment to promote the physical and behavioral health of each resident. Assist in developing life skills; work as a part of a therapeutic team to establish open communications and support among co-workers. Plan and coordinate services with Program Manager and Residential Social Worker. The House Manager is directly responsible for the supervision of clients and the coordination and execution of their treatment plans as directed. Due to the nature of the work and client needs, the House Manager is considered a “direct care position.” This position is a “live-in” position where employees work for 3˝ days straight-including sleeping for overnights. The shifts are Wed 8:00AM through Sat 6PM OR Sat 6PM through Wed 11:00AM.

Full-time or fee-for-service clinician to provide individual, group, and family assessments and counseling to clients within areas of expertise as assigned while meeting the agency designated productivity expectations of 25 Direct Service Hours for 44 weeks for the calendar year. Full-time and substitute positions available to promote the optimal development and well being of children through family-centered child care. Responsible for planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate programs, which emphasizes learning through play.
